Senior Software Engineering Consultant

Provide technical and software architecture leadership to CTS’s projects.  As a member of the CTS team, provide guidance and technical mentorship to clients and other consultants while researching and recommending new technologies, engineering, and implementing quality software solutions to meet clients' needs, and developing new or enhanced business software applications in the area of financial services.  With CTS, manage the full life cycle of software development, including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, and debugging.  Design, develop, and implement technical software solutions using functional and object-oriented techniques while ensuring the accuracy of program content and the effectiveness of software.  Liaise with CTS’s technical staff to understand problems with software and develop specifications to resolve them.  With CTS, you will evaluate departmental requests for new or modified software programs to determine feasibility, cost, and compatibility with current systems source and identify software problems and modify and enhance existing schema, data, configurations, systems, computer programs, and process flows accordingly.  Choose appropriate tool sets and architectures to implement software solutions while preparing logical database and system design solutions for clients using CTS’s licensed software and proprietary tools, processes, procedures, and methodologies.  Document the software development process, including logic, coding, and corrections as you modify existing software and add profitability calculations and reporting services with CTS.  As part of the CTS team, ensure the timely and effective implementation of software solutions.  Position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Required:  Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and one year of software engineering experience.  In lieu of Master's degree, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and three years of software engineering experience.  In addition, the following specific skills are required:

  • 1 year (3 years with Bachelor's degree) of experience working with either .NET or Java; and,
  • 1 year (3 years with Bachelor's degree) of object-oriented development experience.
